Terrariums Are For More Than Houseplants

I have two terrariums or conservatories all decked out with holiday scenes.  Come along with me and take a look..

This terrarium is in the foyer.  It has a miniature Santa house.  It is actually an ornament I found at the thrift store.

If you look closely you can see Santa at work making toys.

The terrarium holds a special message for guests entering the foyer.  I’ve had the wooden Merry Christmas blocks with a Santa, sleigh, and Christmas tree for many years.  It was part of my office décor until I left my corporate job last year but I think it has found a new home in my Christmas décor.

In addition to the small forest of green bottle brush trees this terrarium has a decorated tree that lights up.  How cool is that?  I found it at Target last week.

My chippy blue terrarium is in the family room on the bookcase to the right of the fireplace.  See it in my Christmas Mantel post.

Blue House 1

It has a beautiful little blue house that looks like all the lights are on that creates a very inviting look.  If you look closely you can see a tiny wreath on the door, people, and a Christmas tree inside.  The house is a Hallmark ornament.

Blue House 3

It has several white bottle brush trees but I added a pretty blue fishing float for a bit more color.

Terrariums truly are for more than houseplants. These vignette terrariums were so easy to put together.  I just arranged the items the way I liked then randomly dropped in the plastic snow.   I did have to take some care to cover the battery pack for the lighted bottle brush tree.   Target also has a white lighted bottle brush tree that would add even more interest to the chippy blue terrarium.   I  may make my way back to Target tomorrow for that little tree.

I’m glad you stopped by today and be sure to come back soon to see more Christmas décor.  If you don’t already subscribe to my blog be sure to sign up by e-mail, so you will never miss a post.  I would love for you to follow me on Pinterest here and if you e-mail me your Pinterest URL I will follow you back.  Thanks for visiting!
