TTT Wk 40 Vintage Finds

My daughter moved this week but she still isn’t in her new place full-time yet.  We are taking a few more small things tomorrow and she is spending her first night there.  I’m hoping to check out one or more of those junk/antique stores and flea markets I saw.

TTT Week 40 Vintage Finds

Let me show you what I found last week at my regular haunts.

Vintage Wooden Level

This vintage wooden level came from a booth in my antique mall.  I was super excited to find it since a wooden level has been on my “wanted list” for a while.  It is oak with brass fittings.  I’m thinking of staining it a darker color.

Green Redmon Picnic Basket

This vintage Redmon green and white picnic basket is a Goodwill find in pretty good shape for its age.  Since I collect picnic baskets it is staying with me for now.

Souvenir Bowl Holland

Anything blue and white catches my eye and I couldn’t resist this Blue Delft souvenir bowl from Holland.

Blue Delft Bowl

Even though I love it, this bowl is booth bound.  I already have a few Blue Delft things for sale there and this bowl will complement them.

Green Ref Bowl

It amazes me that a green glass refrigerator bowl from the 1940’s still exists.  The top is missing but the bowl is in perfect shape.  This bowl is a keeper.  It is perfect for a low compact flower arrangement.

Copper Lobster

At one time I had a collection of copper molds but I no longer collect them.  They sell remarkably well at the booth so I pick them up when I see them.

Tiara American Tourister Train Case

On half price day I found not one but two vintage train cases.   One is a brown Samsonite case in lovely shape.  It cleaned up nicely and with a little patterned scarf tied on the handle, off to the mall it went.  The other train case is Tiara by American Tourister and a medium shade of blue.   It needs some of the lining glued back in place and a bit of cleaning and it will be ready to make a début at the antique mall.

Zinc Ball Mason Jar Lids

My antique mall also netted me a few zinc lids for a couple of my lidless vintage Ball Mason jars.

I’m glad you stopped by today to see my vintage finds and be sure to come back soon.  If you don’t already subscribe to my blog be sure to sign up by e-mail on the side bar or Hello bar at the top, so you will never miss a post.  I would love for you to follow me on Pinterest here and Facebook here.  Thanks for visiting and come back soon!

  1. Sharon, I always enjoy seeing your finds, and hearing what does well in others’ areas at their antique malls. I think the picnic basket (esp the green color) is my fave this week. 🙂

Don’t think had ever seen green basket like that, it’s very special. If we had money would be traveling to your area to do some shopping. I have maybe 5 of that type picnic basket plus one metal one with wood look on yellow. One of other baskets painted coral and aqua, hubs put bracing wood on bottom and casters so I keep lots of craft supplies used often in it and can haul it around where needed in house. Use other ones to store magazines or dvd’s in. No sense letting them get dirty out in shed, so good to store things in and look cute in living room or wherever. Got all of mine in KY when we lived there, would go to sales in little town called Smith’s Grove north east of Bowling Green. Town has several awesome antique/vintage stores. How I miss those now.
Happy weekend and hunting. Hope your daughter will be happy in her new place.

Love the picnic basket though I would have a hard time finding the place for another one :>))) Train cases are a good seller for me also.

  4. Sharon –

You have a great eye for vintage finds! I have to say the process of finding them is always my favorite part! Probably because it usually involves a lazy stroll and great coffee! I have recently started a new linkup party with a few other fantastic bloggers and we would love to have you stop by and link up! The party goes live tonight at 7PM CST. I hope to see you there!
