Quick and Easy Succulent Centerpiece In A Chippy Thrifty Find

This thrift store find update definitely fits into the quick and easy category.

#Q&E Succulent Planter

Let me show you how I did it.

#Wooden planter 2

These four little planter boxes attached to a tray were a fun thrift store find.  The planter still has the original price sticker and it came from Hobby Lobby probably sometime in the recent past.

Don’t you love the chippy paint?  It is chippy perfection.

I had several faux succulents in my stash, some Spanish moss, and glass marbles.

#Succulents trimmed

These four faux succulents are similar in size so they will do nicely.  So I trim the stems to fit the little planters.

#Clear Marbles

Then I filled each box with enough glass marbles to hold the faux succulent in an upright position.

In the next step I tucked a generous amount of moss on top of the glass marbles and placed a succulent in each pot.

Easy peasey.  You could do the same thing in teacups, like I did here, a group of small clay pots, or old champagne glasses and place them on a tray or platter.  You can probably think of many other container and tray combinations that would work for this type of centerpiece.

  20. I am in love with succulents this year. Absolutely madly in love with them, even the faux ones which look very real! Sitting here adoring your little chippy pots and how I would love to have something here in my office that I am re-doing… if, that is, if my husband should ever be done with other projects long enough to hang my pictures on the wall. *sigh* Great things take time, don’t they? xo
