Impromptu Valentine’s Day Tea Party

We really didn’t have anything planned for Valentine’s Day so we decided to have an impromptu tea party with items that we had on hand.

Valentine tea title

We served ourselves sweets, berries, and a nice Taylors of Harrogate, Yorkshire Gold black tea.

Valentine Tea Party 5

Since we were working with what we had on hand we raided the pantry and found a few things.

Valentine Cupcakes

On Friday I bought mini cupcakes for my granddaughter so there were a few of those left.

Valentine Tea 3

We had some two bite brownies so I fancied them up a bit with a little cool whip and a raspberry.   I love raspberries with sweets so I added a bowl to the table.

Yummies

It all made for a pretty tasty little plate.

Rose Teapot

We used my delightful rose shaped teapot.  I found this beauty in a thrift store a while back.

Valentine tea party

You may recognize the bottom teacup from FTT 69 Vintage Finds.  The teacup on top is one I inherited from my mother’s collection.

Valentine Tea 3

The Fire King Jadeite creamer and sugar bowl are a recent ETSY buy.

Joy Heart

I found this chiming silver metal heart-shaped bell last week but forgot to include it in my weekly Vintage Finds post.  It has JOY engraved on one side and when you pick it up it has a the most lovely deep melodic chime.

Valentine Tea 4

Thank you for dropping by and Happy Valentine’s Day.

Always

  1. What an absolutely spectacular impromptu tea party, sounds like it worked out so lovely for you and guests. What fun to have party without planning, have it turn out so sweet for you. Your table looks perfect for any party. Happy Happy Valentines Day
Your tea pot is so wonderful, it’s so pretty and dainty. Love it to pieces. Also loving your Jadeite, you have some pieces I used to have til I dropped box out in back yard and broke several of my prized pieces. I do have that plate you have. Got most of my Jadeite in MT and KY, nothing here. How lovely to have a part of your Mom’s tea cup collection, you have such pretty ones you’ve found. Where do you keep all your collections?
At Goodwill on Wed. I found a checkers on one side of tin and on other sideof tin was chinese checkers similar to what you showed us week or so ago. A lady pulled it out on a shelf above where I most likely would never have looked, then put it back again. I went over to grab it in hurry before she changed her mind or other woman by her. I was so surprised to find it after seeing yours. All the pieces were inside tin which was taped shut. I feel quite fortunate to have gotten it. Now can hang the two of them for different little display, what fun. Thought about having hubs mount them on a board together but need to think about that more.
Sure hope you had great day, sounds like it with your tea party. Have great week

    • Jadeite is out of this world expensive so I really have to hunt for it because I just can’t bring myself to pay the high prices. I would be devastated if I dropped a box of it. Inheriting my Mom’s teacup collection is why I started collecting them. Now I can’t seem to stop myself but a lot of what I buy goes to the booth for resell. Good find with the Chinese Checkers. sb

    I just LOVE that pink teapot! The style reminds me of some dinnerware I’ve seen before (usually in shape of artichoke? and is also pink) that I’d love to own. You can’t go wrong with chocolate, berries and whipped cream! I saw some Jadeite for sale this past weekend in a posh Chicago antiques store but it was way too expensive for me! They wanted $32 a piece for salt and pepper shakers! Love your entire table. xo Kathleen @ Charm Bracelet Diva {At Home}
