Vintage Fascination No. 128

Welcome to a Florida edition of Vintage Fascination.  I’m visiting my daughter this week and I plan to do some thrifting while I’m here.  I’ll share whatever I find next week.

Not too many treasures this week but I had a haircut on Thursday, luckily there is a Goodwill nearby.  So I dropped in for a few minutes.

This European-inspired beer stein is charming.

This one has German inscribed on it!

They both have JAPAN stamped on the bottom

and probably were imported sometime after 1952.  My daughters may fight over these.

This cheese cloche made by Dolphin is still in the original box and has never been opened.  Well, that’s about to change.

Dolphin is well-known for their wonderful teak wood kitchen treasures.  The Delft blue tile is  “Danube Onion” design.

I won these last two finds in an online auction.   Jadeite is favorite of mine and I have a small collection but rarely find it in my neck of the woods.  A jadeite cup and saucer in the Jane Ray pattern by Fire King arrived in perfect condition.

The small jadeite plates are also in the Jane Ray pattern.  They are in lovely condition for their age.  These salad plates measure 7 inches in diameter.  Produced from 1945 until discontinued in 1963 the Jane Ray pattern seems to be the most plentiful.  So I stalk online sellers for it at reasonable prices.

  4. Of course I love the jadeite you found! I have that vase 😉

  5. Nice finds, Sharon! You know my feelings for jadeite, but I like that cheese dome.

  6. Jann Olson says:

Great scores on the jadite Sharon. I love it too! I have been lucky to find a little at a time for reasonable prices. I did have to dish out $15 each for my 6 large plates. My sil found them for me in Virginia. I have never ran across any here. The lady was asking $20 ea., but came down when she bought so many. Have fun thrifting in FL. I found some fun things in CA.
    hugs,
    Jann

  7. Oh that jadeite, the vase you have is one that got broken when I dropped box of many pieces, OUCH. Found many jadeite pieces for good prices in MT and KY, rarely see it here, if I do is way over my budget. When I had my buffet hutch had all my jadeite out and other pieces. Still miss buffet/hutch but no place to keep it in this house.
So happy for you to find great pieces to add to your collection. Enjoy thrifting in FL.

I love to hear what you think.
