Join Me At the Treasure Hunt Antique Mall Today

My booth needs a bit of fluffing so I’m bringing you along for a visit.

Sometimes I go dust and fluff the booth quickly and I’m out the door but today we are taking some time to visit.

This lovely coastal display greets you at the front door.

BWH Treasures

My little booth space is pretty full but I bet a few more Blue Willow House Treasures will fit.

TTT Week 20 – Vintage Ironstone and More

One of my favorite thrift stores was a virtual treasure trove this week.  They had a lot of white ironstone.  Most of it was Johnson Brothers in swirl patterns.

White Ironstone Platter title

There was so much ironstone I had to restrain myself from buying too much because storage for my ironstone obsession collection is becoming a bit of an issue.

White Ironstone

This the white ironstone haul except the small plate which is bone china.  All the ironstone is Johnson Brothers.

White Ironstone Platter

This platter is Johnson Brothers Athena pattern, made in England.

Ironstone Serving Bowls

One bowl is a keeper since I collect white ironstone and part of my collection is in this swirly pattern.  I am trying to get a service for at least six.  The other bowl is off to the booth.  Now I must decide which one to keep.

Johnson Bros Bowls

These bowls are Snowhite Regency pattern but have different marking on the back.

Ironstone B&B Plates

These six swirly bread and butter plates are going into my collection too.  One plate had the JB mark rather than a crown.  There was a good bit of white swirly ironstone at the thrift store but a lot of it did not have a maker’s mark at all.

Portman Hotel

This tiny plate caught my eye because of the red pattern. It is from the Portman Hotel.  It is Wedgewood Bone China – Hotelware, Made in England.  There is a Portman Hotel in London and I would like to think my little plate is from there.  I’m looking for Valentine items for the booth and the small plate is perfect.

Cheese Shaker

When I saw this cheese shaker Pinterest immediately came to mind.  I knew there was a pin out there showing a creative use for a cheese shaker so I put it in the shopping cart.

Blue and white cup

This cup is a keeper too.  I’m adding it to my blue and white collection from Not Your Mom’s Mug Tree.

Gray Royal Typewriter

I love this small grey Royal typewriter.  It even has it own case but I already have my beloved blue one so this one is going to the booth.   Hopefully someone will love it as much as I do.

Blue speckle enamelware strainer

This rustic white with blue speckled enamelware strainer is going to the booth, but if doesn’t sell I have an idea of how I will use it at my house.

Red Ladder

The red ladder was in the back of the store leaned up against the wall and at first I thought it belonged to the store but after further inspection I saw a price.  I plan to use it in the booth for Valentine’s then I’m going to use it on my deck.  This ladder is perfect to fit with shelves for a nice plant stand.

All I can say about this thrifting trip is that the white ironstone got me started then a red ladder and grey typewriter finished me off.    It was a really good day.

I’m glad you stopped by today and be sure to come back soon.  If you don’t already subscribe to my blog be sure to sign up by e-mail on the side bar or Hello bar at the top, so you will never miss a post.  I would love for you to follow me on Pinterest here and Facebook here.  Thanks for visiting and come back soon!

Fate of The Southern Special

Peachy Lovelyness

The Southern Special party is being discontinued.  I didn’t take part as a hostess for very long but I enjoyed it a great deal.  The party gave me exposure to bloggers that I probably would not have met otherwise.  Thank you to everyone who participated especially the many of you who linked up your inspiring posts faithfully each week.

Vintage Blue Royal Typewriter

I’ve guest co-hosted before but never realized all that goes into a successful party.  Many ideas are swirling around in my head and I may be back with another party in the future which is targeted toward my vintage, thrifting, recycling and repurposing niche.

Mossy pinecones

I chose features from the last party in December.  You can see them here.

Blue Willow House Treasures

For now I intend to work my antique mall booth more and I’m still considering opening an Etsy shop to increase the exposure of my vintage finds.  Quite a few venders in my mall also have Etsy shops.

Baby Ben

Now I will have just a little more time to thrift and

Tulip love

make pretty pictures.  In my book that’s not a bad thing.

Holiday Extravaganza @ Treasure Hunt

The Holiday Extravaganza at Treasure Hunt was so much fun.  I sold a lot and bought a lot.  Like I told you my fear is that I am a better shopper than vendor.  So let’s take a stroll through the mall all decked out for Christmas.

This booth was completely transformed for Christmas.  All of those little packages contain jewelry.  Wonder how long it took to tie all those little bows.

TTT Week 14 More Vintage Christmas Fun

I am still Christmas shopping for my antique mall booth and Monday I went to a 50% off sale at a thrift store I don’t normally frequent.  It was a good thing because I found a couple of really fun things.  The car was already loaded with Christmas items since my plan for the day was to do a little shopping and fluff the booth.  The Treasure Hunt was buzzing with vendors getting ready for Christmas.  Our Holiday Extravaganza is this weekend so everyone is working hard to make it special.  I am going Friday to put the finishing touches on my booth.

TTT 14 Title

Ok, I’m going to tell you up front this little guy stole my heart.

Santa 3

He had a rather bedraggled arrangement of silk and plastic flowers which I promptly removed.

Santa 4

The planter was extremely dirty so I soaked it overnight and it came out sparkling clean.

Santa 1

Can I part with this vintage Santa planter?  The jury is still out.

Cup with tree

Even though this Pfaltzgraff cup is probably not vintage, it is very pretty.

Tree in cup

I knew how adorable it would be with a little Christmas tree tucked inside.

Jello Molds 2

You remember my Jello Mold Wreaths from a couple of weeks ago, well I found a few more molds to make into wreaths for my booth.

Standard

Technically this Standard stamp holder isn’t a vintage Christmas decoration but it is definitely vintage.

Stamp Holder

I just decorated it with a little Christmas spirit.

Stamp holder 2

It is a bit of an industrial look for Christmas.

Small Santa Tin

This sweet little Santa tin was an emotional buy.  I had one like it only bigger, but it somehow got lost over the years.

Elf Santa Tree

If you are local, everything at the Treasure Hunt in Powder Springs Georgia is 20% off this weekend November 8th and 9th.

Santa 2

In addition to the sale there are demonstrations, giveaways and refreshments.  So come on by, we would love to see you.

Please be sure to come back soon.  If you don’t already subscribe to my blog be sure to sign up by e-mail on the right or the Hello Bar at the top.  That way you will never miss a post.  Thank you for visiting.

TTT Week 13 Vintage Christmas Goodies

Starting today I’m shorting my post title to TTT rather than Thursday Thrifty Treasure.  My post titles are just getting a bit too long.

Vintage Christmas Goodies

Christmas shopping for my booth is fun and frustrating at the same time.  I’ve really been looking for some vintage Shiny Brite ornaments but just can’t lay my hands on any.

Vintage Christmas Group

Here’s some of what I’ve found so far.

Brite Star Tinsel

I’m ashamed to say what I paid for the Brite Star icicles.  I did a happy dance when I saw it and danced even more when a 29 cent sticker attached.  Is 29 cents too much?  Unfortunately, the elf is a new model from Hobby Lobby.

Art Deco Green Candle Holders

It is going to be hard to part with these art deco candle holders.  I’ve looked on eBay and Etsy and can’t find any like them so I can’t decide on a price for the pair.  Any suggestions?

Coca Cola Playing Cards

These Coca Cola playing cards in a tin are about 20 years old and they are still in their original cardboard sleeve.  I have a similar set from about the same time period.

Noel Elf

I love decorations that spell out Christmas sentiments so I couldn’t pass up these NOEL letters.  Scrabble letter sets of seasonal sentiments keep selling out in my booth.

Gold Open Scroll Ornaments

These gold open scroll ornaments came in a set of 8.  Several still had a tag dated 1998.  Is 16 years old considered vintage?

Angel & Dove Christmas Ornaments

I loved these decoupage angel and dove ornaments.  Oh so Shabby!

House ornament with doors

I’m not sure I can part with this ornament.

Good Will Toward Men

The windows slide open to show a fireplace, Christmas tree, and presents and on the bottom “On earth peace, good will toward men”.

Macy's Mugs

These four Christmas mugs each with Santa in a different pose are from “The Cellar” at Macy’s and dated 1994.

Macy's Mug Close up

This set is in perfect condition which is amazing for mugs sold in 1994

Santa Mug 1

I saw an adorable Santa mug at Goodwill and when I picked it up to see the price on the bottom I saw “To Kathy from Allen and John, Christmas 1954”.  Ok, no way was I leaving it behind.

Collection of Santa Mugs

So another BWH collection was born.  I’ve collected seven Santa mugs to date and no these will not be going to the booth.  Can you tell which one is from “Allen and John”?  (It’s the one on the far right that shows red paint inside the top of the cup.)

Santa Mugs and Elf

The three small ones are my favorites.

Two Santa Mugs

Most of their red paint has chipped off but I love their expressions.

Santa and Elf

I can see now this elf is going to get into some trouble!

Please be sure to come back tomorrow when I am wrapping up my 31 Days of Quick and Easy Holiday Décor and More.  Whew!!!  If you don’t already subscribe to my blog be sure to sign up by e-mail on the right, so you will never miss a post.  Thank you for visiting.

Quick and Easy Jello Mold Wreaths

You know those aluminum Jello molds you find at the thrift store I’ve collected a few.  Now what should I do with them?

Jello Mold Wreath at the BWH

“Make them into wreaths, you’ve done it before”, a little voice in my head said.

Fall Jello Wreath

In fact I made this Jello mold wreath before I started blogging and it hangs on my pantry door.

Chrisrmas Burlap

This one was so easy I almost hate to share how it came together, but here goes.

Jello Mold base

First you tie a length of burlap ribbon to the mold and add some extra pieces of ribbon for fullness.

Burlap Christmas Flower2

Now attach the clip on Christmas decoration to the ribbon and you have a Jello mold wreath.

Bow for Jello Mold

To make a another wreath take a piece of upholstery webbing and add a Christmas bow or a similar embellishment.

Jello Mold Wreath a

Wrap the webbing around the mold and hot glue the webbing to the inside.  It’s ok but a little too plain for me.

Snowman Pin Wreath

So I went to my Christmas pin stash and found an adorable snowman.  Much better don’t you think?

Halloween Jello Wreath

When my grandson saw what I was doing he wanted me to make one for Halloween.  So I dug through my Halloween decorations and came up with an old bow, dollar store skeleton and spider web.  I hot glued it all onto the mold, easy peasy and he loves it!

Snowman 2

Although not exactly a wreath I used three of these molds to create a Snowman in the Kitchen last year.

So have some fun with recycled Jello molds and I bet you can think of even more ways to decorate them.  I plan to make a few of these wreaths with Christmas decorations for my antique mall’s Holiday Extravaganza.  I will share more about that later.

Please be sure to come back tomorrow when I am sharing some Thanksgiving Tablescapes.  If you don’t already subscribe to my blog be sure to sign up by e-mail on the right, so you will never miss a post.  Thank you for visiting.

Decision Made: Treasure Hunt Antique Mall Booth

Well it took me some time but I finally made a decision last week and acted on it immediately.  You can see my dilemma here starting back in July.  I decided to rent a booth at the Treasure Hunt Antique Mall in Powder Springs, Georgia.  It is about ten miles from my house so it is convenient enough that I can easily work my booth a couple of times a week.  It is very exciting and exhausting at the beginning of a new venture.

My booth isn’t quite photo ready yet but let’s take a tour of the Treasure Hunt Antique Mall.

More Burlap

This is one of my favorite booths.

Burlap dress form

Love this jute netting.

Vintage rose

Vintage Rose has some very nice things.

Toms Jar

I’m lusting after this TOM’S display jar.

Vintage Fication

Vintage Fication is another favorite booth of mine.

Ironstone

I love the vintage goodies she stocks in her booth.

Paint

She also sells Paint Couture and teaches classes in how to use the paint and finishes.  Since I knew nothing about Paint Couture I did a bit of research.  Paint Couture is a self priming, décor, furniture and cabinet paint.  It is available in 32 colors and as you can see above the colors are beautiful.   For more information about it see the Paint Couture website.

Red White Kit table

Don’t you love this red and white enamel kitchen table and matching cart?

Pyrex

This booth has tons of vintage Pyrex and Corning Ware at good prices.

Lot of tools

Vintage tools anyone?

Linens

I have my eye on these red, white and blue vintage tablecloths.  My fear is that I will become too much a good customer and not a good enough vendor.

Kitchen Cabinet

My MaMa (grandmother) had a kitchen cabinet like this one but hers was white.

Atherton Pens

If you don’t know about Atherton Pens check them out here.  I hear that they are wonderful gifts.

French Door Shelf

Two French doors joined together make this beautiful corner display shelf at Atherton Pens.

aqua night stand

Love, love, love the color of this nightstand.

36 Pane Window

If you need a very large window I know where to find a 36 pane window in perfect shape for around $75 dollars.

Red and Black booth

A red, white, and black booth really caught my eye.  The dresser drawers with wheels make excellent storage under the bed.

Robots

This booth belongs to one of my neighbor vendors, Shawn.  He and I became acquainted when I was placing a few things in my booth.  He has this large booth on the corner of our row where he shows the robots he makes but he also has a smaller vintage booth across the aisle from me.   I forgot to make a photo of it but in that booth he has vintage toys, games, and books.  I may need to talk to him about the maple tea cart.  Wouldn’t it be pretty painted in a pretty shade of blue chalk paint?

Display crates

This vendor uses painted crates for a cohesive display area.  What a great idea for display without a huge investment.

snippit

See I told you my booth wasn’t photo ready yet but I’ll get there.  I needed display area quick so I picked up these two inexpensive bookcases at my favorite little thrift store in Smyrna and set up shop.  I’m looking for better display furniture to replace these two bookcases.  Sales are good so far and everyone at the mall says they get better during the holidays.  In addition to smalls I intend to have furniture that I can handle by myself, basically anything I can lift and will fit into the back of my Honda CRV.  Also I am naming my booth Blue Willow House Treasures.  Only about half the vendors in my mall have names but to me if you have a business it should have a name.  A pretty Blue Willow House Treasures sign is on the way.  Hopefully by the time the sign is hung I will feel confident enough to share the booth in its entirety.

I almost forgot to tell you there is a Consignment Shop for vintage furniture in a huge room at the back of the mall.   It has complete dining room and bedroom sets and some unique pieces too.  Definitely worth a look.  Also, the antique mall hosts a yard sale at least once a month.  See the Treasure Hunt website for details and directions.   So if you are in the Powder Springs area please be sure to stop by the Treasure Hunt Antique Mall.  If you let me know I will send you a coupon that you can use on anything in the mall, not just my booth.

Please be sure to come back soon.  If you don’t already subscribe to my blog be sure to sign up by e-mail on the right, so you will never miss a post.  Thank you for visiting.

Sharon
