Vintage Fourth of July Inspiration

The Fourth of July Holiday is right around the corner and I have done very little decorating.  A wreath on the door and flag here and there so today I am looking back for some inspiration.

So come alone with me.

Pottery Barn Inspired Projects – Sunday Round-up # 4

Jessica at Craftily Ever After created her own version of Pottery Barn’s NOEL Christmas word art.  Convinced that she could make Pottery Barn’s $149 NOEL word art for less, she was successful in creating her version for around $20.  Go check out her tutorial here on how to make this cute Christmas wall art.

Kelley Blogs shared her tutorial for a Pottery Barn Inspired Fall Banner on Décor You Adore.  It just so happens that Kelley’s sister is Catherine from Décor You Adore  Kelley particularly loved Pottery Barn’s Trick or Treat banner but really wanted something that would last throughout the fall season.  Kelley’s tutorial for a sweet Fall banner is here on Décor You Adore.

Paper Daisy Designs’ Leslie took an ordinary desk chair and transformed it into a furry dream.  She already had the chair but it needed a makeover to match a desk she recently rescued.  She found fabric she liked but decided it was too expensive for the makeover but remembered Pottery Barn Teen’s Furlicious Airgo chair.  She shares her tutorial here.  I’m thinking of doing the same to a desk chair at my house that desperately needs a makeover.

Meegan made the most adorable Pottery Barn inspired Book Page Glitter pumpkin.  Read about how a 1941 dictionary that cost her a dollar has served her well and will continue to do so for many more projects to come.  Meegan shares her tutorial here on What Meegan Makes.

Tricia repurposed a sign she previously made from the old kick plate from her front door into a Pottery Barn Inspired Refreshments sign.  So this is the tale of a double repurpose.  I love this girl’s ingenuity.  See her tutorial here on Simplicity in the South.

Pottery Barn Inspired Projects – Sunday Round-up # 3

Can you believe that it is already October 20th?  This month is flying by and the holidays will be upon us.   I’m back today for the third installment of the Sunday Round-up.

Heidi from Honey Bear Lane made this amazing PB Knockoff Sawhorse Console Table.  She has a great tutorial on how she did it spending just $20 for a knockoff of a $500 table.   Heidi already had the bar stools that she used to make this table but mentioned that your could probably find a couple at the thrift store.  As a matter of fact I saw a couple this past week at Goodwill that would be perfect for this project.   Hop on over to Honey Bear Lane to see how Heidi made her PB Knockoff Console Table.

If you could see the mess of magazines I have you would tell me to run not walk to buy the supplies for these great PB Knockoff Underbed Baskets.  Samantha at Simply Organized wrote a detailed tutorial showing how to make these super handy roll under the bed baskets for her magazines.  PB’s version is $69 not including tax and shipping.  Samantha made 2 underbed rolling storage baskets for about $22 each.  Just think of all the things you could store under your bed in these beauties.

With the holidays coming up this PB Knockoff Drink Dispenser Stand by Charlene – My Frugal Adventures could come in handy serving a big crowd.  She spotted the drink dispenser stands in Pottery Barn for $25 and knew she could make one for less.  She made her own drink dispenser stand for about $5.00 with items she picked up at Lowe’s.  The stand took her about 30 minutes to make.  I already have all the supplies on hand so I will be making one of these babies before Thanksgiving.

Simply Sarah made the most amazing Pottery Barn Eagan Mirror knockoff.  She made a version smaller than the large Pottery Barn Eagan mirror which sales for $699.  Hers more closely compares to the small Eagan Mirror selling for $249.  It cost Sarah about $60 to make her custom version and as she points out that’s over a 75% savings.!! BTW her tutorial is excellent.

Ingenuity by Kathleen at Charm Bracelet Diva when her husband made repairs to a children’s swing set was spot on.  See how she came up with a Pottery Barn Bathroom Storage Ladder from discarded monkey bars.  To complete the storage ladder she grabbed a black wire bin at Goodwill for $1.99 and tied it on one of the rungs with jute.  Don’t you love how she filled the basket with bath necessities.  Go on over to Charm Bracelet Diva to read the whole story.
