Christmas Knee Hugger Post Box

Welcome friends to a Christmas Knee Hugger Post Box decorating project.

Do you guys remember when I won this adorable green post box from Tania at Little Vintage Cottage last year?  She had a contest on her blog sponsored by Bits of Vintage to give away a vintage inspired post box to one lucky reader who turned out to be me.

Today, I am going to convert it to Christmas decor.

Here is how it looked on St. Patrick’s day.

After St. Patrick’s Day I removed the all but the greenery and the bird.

After looking through all the Christmas greenery in my stash I didn’t find anything that worked for my project.  So off I went to Hobby Lobby and fortunately for me all Christmas decor was 50% off.   I found a couple of picks for my project.  My first step was to place the greenery on the top of the post box with stems in the mail slot.

Now, to place the Hobby Lobby woodsman knee hugger.  I like him sitting in the middle of the greenery.

A few vintage Christmas cards should finish off this post box perfectly.  I went through all my vintage cards but unfortunately I don’t have that many from Christmas.   Finally, I found three from a group of mixed vintage cards I purchased from Donna at Distressed Donna Down Home a while ago.  These three are perfect.

I found some red tipped clothes pins in my stash and used them to clip the cards to the post box and to each other.  I love that the Christmas Knee Hugger Post Box greets you as you walk in my back door.

  1. He’s so cute!

  2. Don’t you just have to smile when you see an elf!!! It’s a lovely arrangement and a refreshing change from the same old wreathe! Today at the place where I have a booth, I got a string of vintage looking elf head lights for 2.99! They are mine for now; I can turn them around next year if I so choose. 12 year old grand loves her Elf on the shelf!
