Friday Thrifty Treasures Week 56 – Vintage Finds

Welcome to the first Friday Thrifty Treasures.  Yes, I continued the week count from Thursday Thrifty Treasures since the format remains the same just a day later.

FTT Wk 56 Title

I’m trying to curtail my thrifting for myself and concentrate on booth merchandise for a while.  After you read this post you will see that I was not successful.

Bell Seltzer Bottle

I don’t have a seltzer bottle like this one so it’s a keeper but I will sell one of my current collection to make room for it.

Bell Beverage

It is a Bell Beverage seltzer bottle in New York.

These two pulleys are a bit rusty but not nearly enough.tole

Buckle up Ruler

I found a another ruler for my collection.  This ruler was part of a program to remind everyone to buckle their seat belts and always place children in the back seat.  It is probably for the late 1980’s when Georgia pass its first comprehensive seat belt law.

Copper SquirrelMy blog friend Distressed Donna Down Home has a great ETSY shop.  When she wrote about this copper squirrel she found here, I wanted him for a fall vignette so when she listed him in her shop I snapped him up.

Vintage Postcard

While I was already buying the squirrel I looked at her other things and came away with a package of a dozen vintage post cards.  The one photographed above is my favorite.

DD Tags

All the great stuff I ordered from her everything came packaged so beautifully.  The tags came with a faux clock face tied with fabric strips to hold the tags together.  I’m not one to waste such a lovely embellishment, see how I used it in How To Quickly Renew A Thrift Store Find.  Trust me I will put those charming fabric strips to good use too.

Yellow Pyrex Bowls

Aren’t these the most cheerful Pyrex mixing bowls?  They just made me happy when I saw them and yellow isn’t even my favorite color.   The 401 bowl is 1/1/2 pint and 402 bowl is 1 1/2 Quart.

I couldn’t pass up this lovely toleware tray.  It isn’t in perfect shape but that makes me love it even more.  I already have a small collection in my back stairwell and this one is joining the others as soon as I can get it up on the wall.

  1. Hard to pass up what you love! (I wouldn’t either!) Favorites are the squirrel and the seltzer bottle!!

  2. Lately I have been doing the same thing! Buying as much for myself as for my shop! Just tried to list something today and when the shipping came up $159, it became mine for keeps! I just love your treasures and the things from Donna. She does have great stuff. Your tray gave me a twinge of remorse as I sold mine like it. I had had it since the 1980’s. It’s tough being a thrifter, isn’t it?!

    • I have so much trouble not keeping all of the vintage goodness I find. It is the main reason I opened a booth to try to hold the hoarding at bay.

  3. Thank you, Sharon for the shout out for my Etsy store. I love the watch face burlap flower and I will be honest about stealing your idea! I’m glad you love Mr. Squirrel as much as I did. My favorites are the tole tray – I have a collection of them in my bath – and the seltzer bottle.

  4. Love your finds and the way you photograph them is awesome! Thanks so much for letting me know about your party… sorry I am late…. we just got back from a weekend trip! Enjoy the day!

  5. Love all your finds!

  6. Fabulous vintage goodies; the tole tray is my favorite. Thanks for sharing your treasures at VIP.

  7. What amazing treasures you have gathered there Sharon.
